Wow! Hard to believe I won't see any emails in my inbox to try new assignments!

I'm happy I signed up for these classes. It was interesting to learn these assignments. Not every assignment was easy, but I'm glad I kept trying these assignments.

Thanks for the feedback on my blog posts, too.

I think it's nice to learn things via online. But, face to face interaction is better at times, too.

If the opportunity presents itself, I will attempt to tell patrons , the many things I learned by completing these assignments.

I decided to subscribe to Seattle Public Library's podcasts. I used Google Reader to listen to it.

I picked Lisa See: "Shanghai Girls".

It was interesting to listen to it.

Amazing how technology has evolved!

Week Ten @ 23 Things n'@

I thought it was neat to move tabs in Firefox. I moved a Pittsburgh Post Gazette tab and a Google tab.

For the add on, I searched for Pittsburgh Steelers. I'm a huge fan. I found a Pittsburgh Steeler display theme.

I did find the way to change the text size in Firefox. In Internet Explorer, I like how it says small, medium, large, etc. In Firefox, it doesn't say small, medium, large, etc. Instead, it says Control +.

I do not see any big "Wow" moments with Firefox. To me, it's like using Internet Explorer. I suppose it's good to get used to different browsers.

The Flickr photo belongs to Liz Kerrison. The title of the picture is watching Paddington.

The YouTube video of Mazzy Star Be My Angel seems to be from a poster by the name of Fhaar.

I did check out ACLA's Flickr sets. I typed in my library (Monroeville Public Library) to see if photos were posted. Some photos were posted.

I found this assignment to be challenging. I was happy I was able to upload the picture and video. The help feature came in handy.

I chose the Shih Tzu photo because I like Shih Tzus. I don't own one, but I find the dogs cute.
I chose the Mazzy Star Be My Angel video because I like the song. I think it's romantic.

I thought the sites were cool. I have heard of the sites. I've seen YouTube videos of libraries. I think YouTube is another way libraries can promote their services!

I have a Facebook account. It's neat to see what friends are doing with their lives.

I set up an account on MySpace. I ended up deleting it because I felt it was a place for teenagers to hang out.

I picked 3 databases to view. All were interesting to browse.

1. Ref USA
2. Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center
3. Grove Dictionary of Art

Ref USA seems to be a handy business source.

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center was informative. I thought it was neat how one can download. It was also interesting to have web sites listed.

Grove Dictionary of Art was resourceful.

Week Five @ 23 Things n'@

I was able to print out the Audio and Video guide at work. It was handy.

Is there a BWI/Follett? I couldn't find it. I looked at Carnegie's web site. I also looked in Access PA. I figured it was available if it made the Audio/Video guide.

I signed up for a NetLibrary account.

I clicked on eBooks. I clicked on The Get Well Soon Book: Good Wishes for Bad Times by Kes Gray and Mary McQuillan. I used the question mark feature to find out how to "read" and "turn" the pages. It was a cute read. I'm not used to reading books via the computer.

I downloaded Bergdorf Blondes by Plum Sykes from the eAudiobooks section. It was interesting to hear a story via the computer. I'm used to holding a book in my hands.

It's good to have these different options to read or listen to books.

I created an account at PBWorks.

I thought it was fun to list 6 things I love about my library.

I think it would be cool if all the PA lawmakers could see why we love our libraries! Maybe, they won't cut Public Library subsidy by 50%

I found the first part of this assignment to be challenging, RSS feeds. I was thinking to myself, "How do I sign up for a newsreader?" The help feature and participants' comments helped me.
I didn't realize Google Reader existed.

My del.icio. us is SportsGal11

Who knows if I'll use these features? I realize it's okay to get frustrated. The important thing is that I learn new things.

Week Two @ 23 Things n'@

I created this blog last week because I went under the FAQ. Actually, I created a personal blog a few years ago. It's been a while since I posted on that blog.

Do we have to create an avatar for our blogs? The free ones I looked at aren't too great. I think I'll just stick to no avatar.

So far, these exercises are cool. It's good for me to learn new things.

Week One @ 23 Things n'@

I completed Week 1 at 23 Things in @. It's a series of exercises lasting till end of July. I wasn't surprised I scored high on the Intrapersonal and Verbal linguistics section. I do plan. I like to write in a journal from time to time. I'm not surprised I didn't score high on the math/science part. I don't find those sections interesting.

I can't wait to try the other exercises.
